My work is about encounters with matter the tactile process of exploring the ambiguous triggers of our imagination - the limitations and possibilities of materials and objects part of the natural environment and the obsolete industrial waste of our society - objects out of context that we often take for granted - transforming the ordinary and giving it new meaning.

The intriguing serendipitous closely observed discoveries the way pavements cracks - the way a tree trunk grows and swells - the way the tide changes the beach - the effects of the elements on industrial waste this is my palette.

The shattered surfaces of my work the segmented compositions, dissolving forms and shredded images are a result of my interaction with the physical process involved crushing, binding, scoring, scratching the alchemy of exploring combinations of raw materials the choice and rejection - the disintegration followed by the reconstruction the re-assembled in new and unexpected relationships from which I create an altered state.
